While the story is fairly original and only covers up to about the Kazekage Rescue Arc, the game's character selection spans from the beginning of the Naruto Shippuden series to the end of the Akatsuki Suppression Arc. Naruto Shippuden: Clash of Ninja Revolution 3 has a total of 40 playable characters.
